| Qualifications |
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
Hands on architecture, configuration and support of Enterprise Management Systems (i.e. Quest Foglight, Tivoli, Solarwinds, CMDB, MOM, etc)
Bachelors degree in a technology related field. Masters degree preferred.
10+ years technology experience (e.g. data networking, systems, Database and telecommunications).
Windows 2003/2008 Server MCP or MCSA certification.
In-depth understanding of IT security management practices and procedures with 5 to 8 years experience in configuring and hardening operating systems and application software.
5 years project management experience. Proficiency with MS-Project.
Ability to understand, analyze and react to complex technology issues.
Ability to communicate both verbally and written to various technical and non-technical colleagues.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an enterprise management strategy. The solutions and strategy should cover all servers, networks, databases and applications.
Develop and Implement the automation strategy. The automation of the infrastructure should be tracked and quantified to show bottom line business value so that periodic reviews can be done to validate the direction.
Lead the development/project management staff to ensure that new applications or services are appropriately architected and if necessary develop custom applications and monitors. Work with each department to develop detailed escalation plans for each environment.
Architect enterprise management solutions to help provide improved service to our internal and external customers. Collect, report and trend collected data to validate improvement in Service Levels.
Lead the assessment of all Windows/Linux servers for standard set up and configuration for proactive management purposes. Architect and implement proposed configurations to allow for the monitoring of each server type.
Lead all administration duties for the Tidal Job Schedule software. Work with Database administrators, developers and project managers to ensure all production jobs are controlled with in this enterprise scheduling environment.
Works with Tidal support to resolve all issues from scheduled jobs and/or systems related issues with the scheduling software.
Develop detailed reports by platform for both monitoring and job scheduling for analysis and provide solutions for negative trending. Develop any custom reports that may be necessary.
Evaluate, test and provide recommendations for new tools for enterprise management. Implement new solutions for the monitoring of new technologies as the user-end community changes. When new applications/technologies are implemented, work with the other administrators/analysts to ensure we have the tools and training or monitoring the new technologies.
Trains the IT staff on new technologies or tools. Also trains on new management systems that have been developed and installed in the environments.
Develop, implement and maintain preventative maintenance routines and schedules for all IT based servers to include the operating systems, applications, and databases utilized for Enterprise Management.
Lead the development and implementation of procedures to ensure the retention of adequate audit trails and logs that demonstrate effective security of the systems and networks and ensure adequate information is available to facilitate investigations of security related incidents.
