CSS Staffing, based in Omaha, NE, has an open position with a large client for a
Senior Oracle Database Analyst in Chicago
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- 8 or more years\\\\\\\' experience in the database development lifecycle
- 6 or more years\\\\\\\' experience with Oracle running on a distributed platform
- Limited SQL Server experience preferred
- Experience with Oracle 10g and 11g is required
- Performance tuning experience including extensive experience with explains and system snapshots
- Strong SQL skills including the ability to rewrite complex queries for performance improvements
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and work with remote teams
Core Responsibilities:
- Good scripting ability and good working knowledge of Shell Scripts etc.
- Managing large scale Oracle deployments in term of DB size and number of servers
- Solid understanding of Oracle internal architecture
- Performance tuning of Oracle database and SQL is required
- Experience in database software management (installation, patching and version management)
- Experience with database utilities: backup, restore, export and import.
- Enable health performance and configuration monitoring
- Enable event monitoring
- Knowledge of recovery, logging, authentication, and authorizations
- Familiar with a broad range of performance and support tools
- Familiar with Oracle Enterprise Manager and other support tools to manage a database environment
- Understanding Oracle storage options for data (ASM)
- Knowledge of table spaces, indexes, and partitioning capabilities
- Other duties as assigned
