Environments Engineering & Management (EE&M) Sr. Engineer 

Jersey City, NJ or Omaha, NE


CSS Staffing, based in Omaha, NE, has an open position with a large client for an Environments Engineering & Management in either Jersey City, NJ or Omaha, NE

 

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in technology engineering
  • Experience supporting and engineering enterprise applications, middleware, applications and services
  • Strong understanding of networking, infrastructure and client side architectures, software lifecycle, and system design
  • Extensive Systems Engineering experience within e-commerce or financial services industry
  • Extensive experience with Application and Software Development Lifecycles
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and processes
  • Documentation skills - create System process & procedure documentation
  • Analytical skills - Perform analysis of existing environments
  • Experience monitoring and forecasting of system/application capacity
  • Understanding of change and release management processes.
  • Understanding of testing strategies
  • Experience coordinating system events
  • Experience creating System Run Books, defining day-to-day support, maintenance, troubleshooting knowledgebase of the infrastructure
  • Experience monitoring and forecasting of system/application capacity
  • Understanding of change and release management processes
  • Understanding of networking, infrastructure, client side architectures, and system design
  • Experience establishing and defining automated system installation/configuration procedures
  • Performance models and validation techniques
  • Experience applying best practices for monitoring and forecasting of system/application capacity

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Technical and team leader within the department
  • Create process & procedure documentation
  • Coordinate system events and outages within a matrixed organization
  • Monitoring of Support Queues and Alert tools
  • Create problem tickets, process tickets and manage ticket queue
  • Escalate all site issues to documented escalation matrix
  • Perform analysis of existing environments and produce detailed metrics and trend analysis
  • Recommend and implement changes and improvements to current processes, policies, and environment
  • Update knowledgebase and create and modify System Run Books defining day-to-day support, maintenance and troubleshooting of the infrastructure
  • Exercise best practices for monitoring & forecasting system/application capacity with integration into EMS
  • Establish performance models and validation techniques.
